Project 1
Contextual Study Sketch Journal of a Traditional Street
Place identity is constructed on meaning shaped by multiple factors be it socio-cultural, socio-economical, political, etc. of a particular frame of time. Such meanings are embodied in the physical and non-physical aspects - of which is manifested through architecture.
This project introduces ways of reading the important manifested lexicons of traditional streets and interpreting them through documentation - capturing them in a sketch journal and a written summary.

These issues are discussed in lectures and pre-recorded lectures to encourage student's group discussion in class. Students are required to present their findings in the form of a research poster and online presentation.
